Student Support

Our dedicated team provides personalized learning support, academic intervention, and school counseling to help every student grow with confidence, resilience, and faith.

Eligibility

Students must be formally identified as having special services needs through a formal testing process. These tests can be administered by the local School District at no cost to the family or by a private psychologist/psychiatrist for a fee. The assessments look at the student’s cognitive ability and the level at which they are currently performing - a student with a learning disability will show a great discrepancy between the two. The assessment is requested by the parent after a meeting with the resource teacher and classroom teacher has taken place. Assessments must be current - within three years of the requested date of services.

Small Group Language Arts and Math Instruction

At Sacred Heart School, we recognize that every student learns differently. Through small-group math and language arts instruction, led by specialized teachers, students receive targeted support based on their individual needs. These pull out groups help strengthen foundational skills, close learning gaps, and build confidence while also providing enrichment opportunities that challenge advanced learners to think critically and reach their full potential. Our flexible approach ensures every student is supported, challenged, and empowered to succeed.

Resource Support

At Sacred Heart School, we are committed to helping every student grow academically, socially, and spiritually. Our Resource Support Program provides individualized plans and support for students in Kindergarten through eighth grade who qualify for additional academic support. Working in partnership with classroom teachers and families, our resource team helps students strengthen essential skills, build confidence, and develop strategies for success while remaining active members of the classroom community. Guided by our Catholic mission, we strive to ensure that every child is known, supported, and encouraged to reach their God-given potential.

Counseling Services

Sacred Heart School provides counseling support for our students as they navigate the academic, social, emotional, and personal challenges of adolescence. Through individual support, guidance, and age-appropriate resources, our counseling services help students develop healthy coping skills, build positive relationships, strengthen self-confidence, and make choices rooted in our Catholic faith. Our goal is to ensure every student feels supported, valued, and empowered to grow into the person God is calling them to be.
