Faith

Our Catholic faith is at the heart of all we do at Sacred Heart School. It is our foundation, our guiding light, and the gift we hope to share with every student. Through faith formation, worship, prayer, service, and the Sacraments, we strive to help students develop a deep and lasting relationship with Jesus Christ and understand how their faith can guide and enrich every aspect of their lives.

Faith Formation on Campus

Sacramental Preparation

Second grade is a special and joyful year at Sacred Heart School as our students prepare to receive the Sacrament of First Holy Communion. Through faith formation, classroom instruction, prayer, and participation in the life of the Church, students deepen their understanding of the Eucharist and grow in their relationship with Jesus.

First Holy Communion is a beautiful milestone in a child’s faith journey and a joyful celebration for our entire school and parish community. We are blessed to walk alongside our students and their families as they prepare to encounter Christ in a profound and personal way and take this important step in living out their Catholic faith.

Altar Servers

Serving at the Altar is a beautiful opportunity for our students to grow in their faith while actively participating in the celebration of the Mass. Sacred Heart students serve as Altar Servers at our weekly school Masses as well as daily and weekend Sunday Masses at our parish.

Through this ministry, students learn the importance of reverence, responsibility, and service while developing a deeper understanding and appreciation for the Mass. Serving alongside our priests and parish community allows students to use their gifts to serve God and others and to take an active role in the life of the Church.

Heart Pals

The Heart Pal Program is a beloved Sacred Heart tradition that brings our 8th and 7th grade students together with our youngest students in Kindergarten and first grade. This special friendship creates meaningful connections between students across grade levels while helping our youngest children feel loved, supported, and part of the Sacred Heart family.

Heart Pals attend Mass together, giving our junior high students the opportunity to serve as positive role models and faith-filled examples for their younger partners. Throughout the year, they spend time reading together, working on special art projects, and participating in celebrations and activities that strengthen their friendship and bond.

Through these shared experiences, our junior high students learn the joy of leadership, service, and caring for others, while our youngest students gain a special friend and role model to look up to. The Heart Pal Program reflects the spirit of our Sacred Heart community, building relationships, sharing our faith, and growing together in Christ.

Hallow Prayer Partnership

Sacred Heart School is proud to partner with Hallow, a faith-based prayer app that helps students and families make prayer a meaningful part of everyday life. Through guided prayers, Scripture, reflections, and meditations, Hallow provides simple and accessible ways for our school community to grow closer to God at home and at school.

This free resource is a beautiful gift to our school community and supports our commitment to placing prayer at the heart of daily life. By encouraging families to pray together, we hope to nurture a deeper relationship with Jesus and help our students discover the joy and peace that come from making prayer a part of their everyday lives.
